Quintana Roo is known as the “Door to the Mayan World” according to Chilam Balam de Chumayel. The actual territory of Quintana Roo was first urban settlements by the Itzaes and one of the most populated regions of the Imperial Mayan. Due to that the south of Quintana Roo offers us the opportunity to know majestic cities of the past that reveal unique architectural styles in the south of our state.
Actually Quintana Roo is one of the principal tourist destinations in the world that anually receives more than 4 million tourists from all over the world.
